Andragogy vs Pedagogy

  Difference between andragogy and pedagogy.

Education is a never-ending continuous process in which we are all more or less involved. In the world of education, there are many disciplines that aim to enhance the quality of learning, such as pedagogy and andragogy.

An example of a pedagogical approach is teaching in primary schools. Children learn according to a predetermined program and teachers are responsible for teaching. Children have little or no previous experience of this.

An example of andragogy is an adult education course. Participants had previous experience on the topic and were motivated to learn more. The method of the course is easier and the goal is set by the learners themselves.

It is important to distinguish between the two because each is aimed at a different audience and context. If you are looking to teach a group of children, pedagogy has the right approach and tools for this. If you are looking to teach adults, andragogy is the subject that best meets their needs and expectations.  

-Can a pedagogue teach adults? Yes, an educator can teach adults, but it is important to note that she must tailor her teaching strategy to suit adult audiences and their needs and expectations. 

-Can Andragogue teach children? Yes, an andragogue can teach kids, but it's important to note that you'll need to tailor your teaching strategy to suit your child's audience and their needs and expectations. 

There is no single subject that is most effective for teaching because it depends on the intended audience. It is important to know the tools and strategies of each sector and to know which one best fits the needs and expectations of the target audience.
